The apple season makes fall a favorite time of the year for me. Understanding the powerful healing properties in apples fills me with awe that God would provide such a healthy tasty food. Dates are a whole unrefined food that tastes sweet and delicious. They are also supportive to the digestive system and a great source of healthy glucose that feeds every cell in the body.  Dates are the perfect way to sweeten desserts without adding any refined sugar.  The caramel dip in this recipe is quickly made by mixing a little water and cinnamon with dates.  I have found that using a smaller mixer like the Ninja works best when blending this dip.

Soak dates in water for about 2 hours or until they are soft.  Add dates, cinnamon and a tablespoon of water and mix together in a blender until smooth.  Add additional water if needed.
